Here is simple step-by-step training for your own vocal Vibrato exercises:-

  1. Have a metronome set up at about 60 BPM. Start singing a pitch, using a keyboard or guitar as a base note.
  2. Then, sing the next pitch up (one half-step from the first note).
  3. Then the original note again (Do this 3 times).
  4. Then move up to and repeat the exercise on the next highest note.
  5. Increase the BPM of the metronome to 70.
  6. Keep repeating and raising the tone by a half step and the speed of the metronome by about 10 BPM (or whatever’s comfortable) until you’re up about 5 notes from when you started.
  7. Then work your way down, lowering the pitch but still increasing the tempo.

For more simple exercise, you can also just focusing on moving your Adam’s apple down and holding it there just like you would in a yawn as an example.

Your throat may feel sore at first; don’t worry! It’s only the effect of the muscles stretching out and the feeling will go away after several more days of practice. However, by practicing this yawning exercise every day, you’ll notice a gradual improvement in your ability to control your tone and vibrato.
