How to Make Money with Singing

Are you interested in how to make money with singing.  If you have a talent for singing and want to make money with singing, this is the article for you.  Are you worried about the emotional and financial expenses involved?  It’s a valid concern, but there are ways to prepare yourself.

As a former jingle singer and talent booking agent, I’ve worked with many people, just like you.  No matter what aspect of the music business they wanted to be a part of, there were some universal tips that worked for all of them.  So, let’s look at some ways that you can make money with singing, too.

The first key to make money with singing is avoid people who want to cheat you.  There are many opportunistic people out there who will cheat you to further their own goals.  You should limit the money you invest, by avoiding such scam artists.  Be sure to look for legitimate ways to expand your career.

A lot depends on how you plan to make money with singing.  This article is designed to help further your career in session work and commercial singing.  If you’re looking for a great record deal, I’ll have future articles on that.  Don’t worry, though, some of the techniques here will apply to you, too.

You should have a plan, in order to make money with singing.  Setting both short-term and long-term goals can help you further your career.  Picture not only what you want to do in the next month, but also in a year, two years or five years.  Make sure your goals are not too far-fetched.  For instance, you should consider creating a website, which will serve as an electronic business card.  They are fairly cheap and a great form of advertising.  Other things you will need to make money with singing include a cell phone, a demo reel and a good way to keep records.  Organization is important, after all.

Make sure your website looks professional.  To make money with singing, you need to present a professional appearance.  So, have a picture of yourself and a company logo on your site.

Make a professional demo reel, too.  Ideally, you want it to sound like you already make money with singing.  You want people to take your performance on your demo seriously.

Make your demo reel as versatile as you can, too.  No matter which way you plan to make money with singing, you need to start somewhere.  Showcase your different singing talents.  Include as many songs and jingles as you can.  Show them a lot of different talents.  There’s no telling what they may need.

So, remember to keep it simple, but look professional.  Put your best foot forward.  If you remember these key points, you’ll find it much easier to make money with singing.
