Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift may have released only 2 albums although this 19 year old girl could be a revolutionary as far as the manner in which country music is concerned.  This has earned her the prestigious Entertainer of the year award at the Country Music Association or CMA awards this year. She has also got a Grammy award for her album ‘fearless’ which was the album of the year. Taylor also won the song and country album of the year. The eight accolades that she won were only surpassed by Beyonce who scooped ten awards. The third highest achiever on the night was Lady Gaga who had five awards.

Being the youngest ever holder of  the biggest prize on that night, Taylor Swift  is one among only  six females who have had the great opportunity to win the highest accolade, the other include Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, Reba McIntire, Barbara Mandrell, dolly Parton amd Loretta Lynn.  A run down of Taylor Swift’s awards are as follows Video of the year for the song ‘Love Story” best female vocalist and her album fearless got the Album of the year. Aspiring singers who want to learn how to sing country should really understand that they first need to know the basics. Singing country songs is not different from singing other styles of music, the only difference is the accent associated with it.

Country songs sometimes known as western or country is a mixture of popular types of music that originated from the Appalachian Mountains and Southern US. Country music has its roots in folk music, old-time music, Celtic music and gospel music.

Country music is a term that has been used since 1940s when hillbilly music, which was the term used earlier was considered to be undignified.
